Born in October 2020, Yonder brings together the expertise of four specialist businesses: the award-winning research and consultancy of Populus, the state-of-the-art data capture of PDS, the creative brand strategy of BrandCap, and the insight-led innovation of Decidedly.
Insight + Strategy + Imagination is at the core of the Yonder offer. We have big plans in making a name for ourselves within the creative industry and we’re developing skills sets in a broad range – brand identity, naming, motion design, digital design, animation, copywriting, advertising and data visualisation to mention a few. From ambitious start-ups to world-class brands, we work in a wide variety of sectors, including retail, luxury, technology, hospitality, property, education, and financial services.
In a nutshell
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and inspiring Associate Director level writer to join our team as we continue to grow. If you are an experienced writer who is keen to explore a new challenge; someone who is fascinated by insight (understanding what customers really want) and is excited to turn these insights into creative solutions for our clients, then we need you.
You’ll report into the Creative Principal, working closely alongside our wider creative and strategic teams, and will play a vital role in leading and championing our creative offering across our London, New York, and Hong Kong offices.
Your skills and experience
Ideally, you’ll have 8+ years of experience in a copy role and a book that showcases your love for language and creative ideas across a wide range of executions – from long copy, to tone of voice guidelines, to snappy headlines and everything in between.
You’ve got all the hygiene stuff covered such as an eye for detail, great grammar, and proofing skills, but more importantly you’ve got a drive to push the boundaries of what great copy can do.
You’re as comfortable leading the verbal identity side of a large-scale brand identity job as you are chucking a few ideas around in naming brainstorm.
You’re a great presenter and engaging storyteller.
You’re ambitious. We want someone to come in a make this role their own. Challenge what we think great copy can bring to the business and our clients. Keep us at the cutting edge.
You’re a natural collaborator – happy getting stuck in with our designers, art directors and strategists to produce something truly exceptional.
You have a good understanding of what is happening in the world around you and use this knowledge to proactively educate your colleagues and clients.
A bonus would be:
You’ve not only worked in consultancies. If you’ve spent time in advertising agencies or in-house, that’s a nice to have, but not essential.
A day in this role might see you running a naming workshop, crafting a pitch-winning brand narrative, finalising some tone of voice guidelines, and then grabbing a coffee with a mentee. It’s exciting stuff and there’s a real buzz, but you’ll need to be organised and ready to manage multiple projects at the same time whilst keeping a cool head.
Working with the entire Yonder team, you will develop powerful, creative ideas and translate them into brilliant, creative solutions, delivered through engaging and innovative storytelling. You’ll inspire and help to develop the Creative team, including some line management. You’ll build and develop excellent, profitable relationships with clients and have a responsibility for generating new business. Injecting Imagination through Yonder, you will champion our brand both internally and externally, within the creative industry.
Most importantly, you’ll love what you do and pass on that enthusiasm to the team and our clients.
Yonder has a real buzz as we continue to grow. We reward people who help to drive that growth and support and encourage new ideas which will add value. Our culture is highly collaborative, but also comes with a lot of freedom. We want you to be yourself and provide you with an encouraging and supportive environment to allow you to grow and develop too. We offer a competitive salary, 28 days holiday (plus your birthday off), 5% employer pension contributions, critical life insurance, private medical health insurance and other non-contractual benefits such as volunteering leave, 4pm finishes on Fridays and an annual wellbeing allowance.
