Senior Consultant, Research Practice

In a nutshell

Yonder brings a blend of insight, strategy and imagination to clients across sectors and geographies. We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious Senior Consultant to work primarily with the Corporate and Government Affairs team within our Research Practice. We work with interesting and high-profile public and private sector clients across a range of sectors and are seeking individuals who can add to our offer. If you have experience in using data and research to inform corporate, reputational, or political strategy, and you have a strong interest in current affairs and social/political trends, then we would like to hear from you.

Your skills and experience

You would have been a mixed-methodology research professional (a research manager, senior research executive or consultant or equivalent), and ready to join a team that combines research and consultancy. You are curious about how the business world works and follow the current affairs and political trends that influence it. You demonstrate outstanding written and verbal skills, can be trusted to manage research projects independently while liaising with colleagues across the wider team, and have excellent attention to detail. You can creatively apply research to business challenges and use your initiative to grow, develop and learn.

The role

Yonder helps clients understand reality, define opportunities, and create impact. Consulting, research, design and analytics all play a role in creating that impact, and this role will allow you to bring a range of skills to clients across a variety of sectors. While you will work primarily with the Corporate and Government Affairs team, you will also have an interest in Yonder’s wider offer – from brand strategy to advanced data analytics and design.

You will combine primary and secondary research approaches with consulting techniques to find answers to our clients’ questions or solve their problems, such as:

  • ‘How can I measure and manage my organisation’s reputation?’
  • ‘What should my corporate communications strategy look like?’
  • ‘Who should I be targeting with my messaging to achieve my business goal?’
  • ‘How can I understand and respond to wider political / social / commercial trends?’

You will be client-facing and lead research projects focused on issues relating to strategy, reputation and communications for public and private sector organisations. You might be asked to help a client understand what drives their reputation among politicians, or how to communicate better with local residents, or how to market a new product or service to a new audience. These research projects may focus on public opinion, stakeholder opinion (e.g. MPs, journalists, leaders of influential third sector organisations, etc.), large data sets, or other forms of business intelligence. You will lead in writing up, visualising, and presenting findings.

You will oversee and manage the work of colleagues within the team, while also working closely with Directors and other senior leaders across the Yonder business. It is essential that you are able to take the lead in managing projects, taking responsibility for delivering client work to the highest standard. You will also support new business proposals, and will be expected to have the expertise to design projects and think creatively about how to meet client objectives.

As a Senior Consultant, you will also have line management responsibilities, contribute to the development of the team and liaise with colleagues to develop Yonder’s Government and Corporate Affairs offer. At a time when the political world and business world increasingly intertwine, you can contribute to exciting work that can make a real impact for our clients.

What Yonder can offer you
