The poll covered the following topics: Is it important that there is a serious contest for the leadership of the Labour Party; Views on Brown and Miliband (as the best qualified Labour candidate to be the next PM); Should the new leader of the Labour Party should call a general election shortly after they take over.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1004 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 28th March 2007 and 29th March 2007. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
