The poll covered the following topics: Is Prison a Better Deterrent from Crime than Community Service; Should Tougher Forms of Community Service be Found; Is it Possible to Rehabilitate Criminals; Criminals are not Punished Sufficiently in this Country.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,003 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 7th February 2007 and 8th February 2007. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
