The poll covered the following topics: Should the Countryside be Protected from Development; Is it more Important to develop Infrastructure than Protect the’Green-Belt’; People Should not be able to Stand in the Way of Development where there is a Real Need; Government does not care about Rural People.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,010 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 6th December 2006 and 7th December 2006. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
