The poll covered the following issues: Government Competence on Issue of Immigration; Subjective Analysis of Immigration’Problem’; Favored Party to Deal with Immigration; Issue Importance of Immigration as a Determinant of Vote Choice; Attitudes towards Asylum and Immigration.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,116 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 25th August 2004 and 26th August 2004. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
