The poll covered the following issues: Can Government Influence Happiness; Would Reducing the Wealth Disparity in the UK Make People Happier; Would Working Less in Order to Spend More Time with Family make People Happier; Do politicians make People unhappy by Discussing Happiness.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,012 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 24th May 2006 and 25th May 2006. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
