The poll covered the following issues: Voting Intention, Preference of Government, Leadership Attributes and the response of individuals, Gordon Brown and David Cameron, and groups, the fire service, the armed forces, local authorities and The Environment Agency, to the recent floods.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1511 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 27th July 2007 and 29th July 2007. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
