The poll covered the following topics: Is the Proposed’pay-as-you-drive’ Scheme a Good Idea; Would People drive less if Expenses Rise; Does Public Transport Provide a Viable Alternative to Driving; Should the Government Improve the Road Network.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,002 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 15th November 2006 and 16th November 2006. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
