This poll covered government borrowing, which has risen significantly in recent months to fund the measures taken to prevent the collapse of banks and to address the effects of recession.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,007 adults aged 18+ by telephone on April 15th and 16th 2009. Interviews were conducted across the country and the results have been weighted to be representative of all adults.
