The poll covered the following topics: Views on Gordon Brown (as chancellor and potential PM); Views on the effect of the Budget on taxes; Voting intention (with and without Gordon Brown as Labour leader); Gordon Brown’s characteristics.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1025 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 21st March 2007 and 22nd March 2007. Interviews were conducted across England and the results have been weighted to be representative of all English adults.
