This poll,part of a regular monthly series for The Times,covered Voting Intention, Britain’s economy, the next general election and the additional troops being sent to Afghanistan.

Populus interviewed a random sample of 1,505 adults aged 18+ by telephone between December 4th and 6th 2009. Interviews were conducted across the country and the results have been weighted to be representative of all adults.
